Judge Sets Deadlines For Nacchio Prosecutors
DENVER (AP) ―
A federal judge set a series of deadlines Friday morning for prosecutors to turn over evidence in Joe Nacchio's insider trading trial. Attorneys for the former chief executive of Qwest Communications claimed prosecutors were stalling in the process.
U.S. District Judge Edward Nottingham made the decision after government attorneys said the evidence exchange process was slowed because of the requirements of the Classified Information Procedures Act.
"This case is going to be tried on March 19, folks," Nottingham told attorneys during a status conference.
The judge ordered the parties to file a status report in the case by Feb 6.
