2 Charged In 2001 Colorado Springs Murder

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) ― A judge has ruled that two Colorado Springs men should stand trial on first-degree murder charges in the 2001 murder of a college student.

No charges had been filed in the murder of 19-year-old Patricia Ann Elliott until Benjamin Gunvalsen was arrested in March and allegedly confessed.

Police said he had agreed to testify against Ryan Krueger and Christopher Allen in return for not facing first-degree murder charges.

Police allege Elliott was killed after purchasing drugs from the defendants because they believed she was a police informant.

All three men are jailed without bond.
