Colorado Lawmakers Off Party Lines On Pinon Canyon

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) ― Colorado's representatives in Congress are not following party lines on the Army's plan to expand its Pinon Canyon maneuver area.

Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, R-Colo., has joined Rep. John Salazar, D-Colo. in opposing the expansion which also is opposed by many local landowners.

Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo. supports the expansion, saying limiting the Army's expansion could endanger our troops.

Musgrave took exception to that remark, noting she is the mother of an enlisted sailor and the mother-in-law of a soldier who served in Afghanistan.

Salazar noted he represents the Pinon Canyon area. Lamborn represents the area that includes Fort Carson.
