Funny 'Forum' Debuts At Denver Center This Spring
by Greg Moody
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Classic American Broadway and classic American shtick combine to make the Denver Center Theatre Company's re-mix of "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum."
Some of Broadway's best will combine with Denver performers to put a new twist on an old classic.
"You have to invest your own point of view, whatever your own specific stuff is," said Ron Orbach, who plays Pseudolus. "Mostly, you have to trust the material."
The semi-risqué show pulls out every trick in the book, from vaudeville to mistaken identity.
"The thing that's really fun for me is we've never really done the show so we're discovering it together and that's exciting and hopefully that makes it fresh and makes it our own," Orbach said.
It opens May 17 and runs through July.
