Hunters Patrol Crystal Lakes For Bears
RED FEATHER LAKES, Colo. (CBS4) ―
A special bear hunting season got underway on Tuesday in an unlikely location.
Hunters are patrolling the area around the Crystal Lakes subdivision which is located about 50 miles northwest of Fort Collins.
The Division of Wildlife gave out 12 licenses to trim the bear population in the area.
There were more than 120 bear encounters in Crystal Lakes last year but only 13 this year.
The DOW thinks that number will spike sharply as the bears look for food before they hibernate.
