Denver's Metro Taxi Goes 'Green,' Buys Hybrids

DENVER (CBS4) ― Denver's largest taxi service has found a way to make more money while generating less air pollution. Metro Taxi is adding hybrid Toyota Prius cars to its fleet.

Mayor John Hickenlooper was at the announcement of the new vehicle on Wednesday.

"And you start looking at mileage that is two or three times the efficiency," said Hickenlooper. "You get better profits and happier employees."

Metro Taxi plans to convert all of its 450 cars to hybrids by 2010.
