ICE Agent In Campaign Ad Flap Returns To Work

DENVER (AP) ― The federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement employee suspected of passing confidential information to Republican gubernatorial hopeful Bob Beauprez' campaign is back at work.

Senior Special Agent Cory Voorhis was suspected last fall of providing information to Beauprez' campaign that was used in an advertisement to accuse rival Bill Ritter of being soft on illegal immigrants.

Ritter, a Democrat, went on to defeat Beauprez.

State investigators determined the information came from a federal database meant for law enforcement only. The full investigation will be turned over to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Wyoming for review.

A spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement says Voorhis returned to work in Denver February 5th on administrative duties.
