Police Look For Vehicle In Williams' Killing

Vehicle Reportedly Registered To Attempted Murder Suspect Already In Jail

Broncos Hold Private Memorial At Dove Valley

by Suzanne McCarroll
DENVER (CBS4) ― Officers were looking for a white 4-door 1998 Chevy Tahoe with Colorado license plate 665-OBS, possibly in connection with the shooting death of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams, police said late Wednesday morning.

Williams was shot and killed after leaving a club party early on New Year's Day in downtown Denver.

Police said the suspected vehicle is registered to Brian Hicks, 27, who is behind bars and awaiting trial for attempted murder.

Police have been searching near Hicks' Denver home to try and find the vehicle. Hicks' wife told the Rocky Mountain News that she had no idea who has been driving the white SUV her husband owned.

CBS4 has confirmed police detectives tried to interview Hicks in connection with the death of Williams. Hicks reportedly refused to talk with police.

He was moved into his own cell Tuesday, according to sources at the jail. Hicks is in jail on attempted murder and drug charges.

A witness in the Hicks case was shot to death last month. Kalloniann Clark-James' murder has not been solved.

Police said the Tahoe was a vehicle of interest.

The Denver Broncos were holding a private memorial for players, coaches and staff at their team headquarters Wednesday morning.
