Settlement With Szeliga Reportedly Collapses
By Sandy Shore, AP Business Writer
DENVER (AP) ―
An attorney for Qwest's former chief financial officer said Thursday a settlement of the Securities and Exchange Commission's civil case against her has collapsed.
The attorney gave no details during a court hearing. SEC attorney Robert Fusseld declined to comment outside the courtroom.
The SEC's civil lawsuit had accused Robin Szeliga of helping implement a massive financial fraud at Qwest Communications International Inc.
Separately, Szeliga has pleaded guilty to criminal charges of insider trading. Sentencing has been delayed.
