Bears Make Themselves At Home In Woman's Kitchen

DENVER (CBS4) ― A Colorado woman will probably think twice before leaving her sliding door open again after a family of bears apparently thought they were invited in.

A mother bear and her two cubs came in through a 3-inch space in the sliding door.

An alarmed neighbor alerted the homeowner Kari Alpern.

"And there was a little bear in my kitchen eating out of the garbage," Alpern said. "You know I love the bears but seeing it in my house was a little bit scary."

The bears left the home before wildlife officers arrived but were later found in a nearby tree.

The bear and her cubs were tranquilized and will be relocated.
