Alleged Illegal Immigrants Arrested Near Buckley

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) ― Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 127 suspected illegal immigrants Wednesday morning at a construction site next to Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora. Some suggested the raid was possibly the largest immigration bust in state history.

About 70 agents, some who came from as far away as California, converged on the work site at about 5:30 a.m., according to a contractor.

The men arrested were loaded onto three buses. ICE officials said the workers were then taken to a processing center for possible deportation.

The alleged illegal immigrants were working on building military housing for the base.

Contractors were reportedly told they could face fines if it was determined they hired undocumented workers.
