Vespa Rider, 21, Killed In Arvada Hit-And-Run
ARVADA, Colo. (AP) ―
An Arvada man faced vehicular homicide and other charges in connection with a hit-and-run collision that killed a Vespa rider.
Police arrested Patrick Moore, 45, Tuesday night following the double hit-and-run crash at 64th and Sheridan.
Authorities said Mario Draves, 21 of California, was trying to turn left from northbound Sheridan on his scooter when a pickup truck struck the Vespa.
Moore's truck then allegedly hit Draves as while he was trying to stand up after the initial impact.
Draves died at the scene.
Moore was also accused of driving under the influence and failure to notify police.
The driver of the first truck has not been found or identified. Draves' hometown is not known.
