Colorado Lottery Director To Retire June 30

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) ― Colorado Lottery Director Margaret "Peggy" Gordon says she will retire on June 30.

Gordon has been director for four years. She announced her retirement Tuesday.

During her tenure, lottery sales rose from $409 million in 2004 to $489.5 million last year. The lottery also added 200 retailers while she was in charge.

Gordon came under fire from some southern Colorado lawmakers because she lived in Denver instead of Pueblo, where the lottery is based.
