Coroner IDs Aurora Man Who Drowned In Reservoir

NEDERLAND, Colo. (AP) ― A man who died after being pulled from a reservoir west of Boulder has been identified as Branden A. York, 22, of Aurora.

Boulder County Coroner Thomas Faure said Friday that the cause of death hadn't been determined, but no foul play is suspected.

Sheriff's officials say York was fishing Thursday in Barker Reservoir when he lost part of his pole in the water and jumped in to get it.

A friend jumped in after York started flailing about and called for help, but the friend had trouble because the water was cold. The friend made it to shore.

Joggers who saw what happened ran to Nederland to tell police.

Divers pulled York out of the lake, but he was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
