Man Dies After Being Tasered By Police
LAYFAYETTE, Colo. (AP) ―
A 22-year-old Boulder-area man being pursued by drug police has died after being hit with a Taser.
Lafayette Police Sergeant Terry Maschka did not identify the man, whose death Friday night is under investigation.
Maschka said the suspect was displaying what he called "assaultive behavior" and did not stop when ordered about 7 p.m. Maschka said the officer feared for his life when the man turned toward him.
The suspect was taken to Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the officer also was not released.
