A high school counselor in Fort Collins has been charged with sexually assaulting children, some of whom he met while working as a church counselor in Longmont between 1991 and 2004.
Brad Boda, 36, is on unpaid leave from Rocky Mountain High School.
He was charged Monday in Boulder County with 11 felony counts including sexual assault on a child, sexual exploitation of children and criminal attempt to commit sexual exploitation of children.
Investigators believe Boda enticed his victims with pornography and then assaulted them in the basement of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.
His attorney, John Pineau, had asked a judge to lift an order barring Boda from interacting with his nieces and nephews, but the judge refused.
"We're encouraged the court recognized that he's presumed innocent," Pineau said.
The judge did allow the defense extra time for psychological testing.
Boda is free on $50,000 bond and is due back in court in January. He didn't return a phone message seeking comment.
