Mother Taken Into Custody In Death Of 3-Year-Old
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4/AP) ―
Aurora police have taken a woman into custody in the death of her 3-year-old daughter.
Detective Shannon Lucy said police were called to Susie Quartey's home Saturday where paramedics found the child not breathing. They were not able to revive her.
Quartey is charged with misdemeanor child abuse and being held on $500,000 bond.
The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office said results of an autopsy Sunday on the girl are inconclusive.
"The cause of death is going to be pending for at lease six to eight weeks," Lucy said.
The coroner is waiting for results of toxicology and lab tests before ruling on the cause of death.
