You now have another airline to choose from when flying out of Denver International Aiport.
AeroMexico celebrated its inaugural flight from Denver to Mexico City Sunday afternoon. It marked the beginning of daily non-stop flights to Mexico and other countries.
AeroMexico is the Mexico's global carrier with flights to Europe, Asia, central and South America, as well as the U.S.
The airline says that in spite of the tough economic times, it's the perfect time to expand.
"We needed to move airplanes and our assets to places where we can sustain growth and profitability in the future. We need to be here when this is all over, so part of our strategy and our vision is to continue to grow in the U.S. and abroad," U.S. operations Vice President Frank Galan said.
More than 100 people took advantage of the inaugural flight to Mexico City.
Galan has said passenger traffic trends indicate there is a demand for daily, direct flights from Denver to Mexico City that isn't being met.
