CBS4 Investigator Brian Maass has learned Denver police are investigating a possible case of embezzlement at Denver International Airport.

Police sources said a detective has obtained a search warrant to review bank records related to the case.

Multiple sources said a routine review of DIA finances revealed discrepancies indicating some money was missing, around $100,000, according to several contacts familiar with the investigation.

Sources also said investigators have attempted to speak to a DIA employee in connection with the missing money, but the worker has declined to cooperate.

One source said early indications are that the money began disappearing about two years ago, but authorities aren't sure if it was misplaced or embezzled.
