Sheridan Official's Firing A 'Personnel Matter'
Written by Brian Maass
SHERIDAN, Colo. (CBS4) ―
The city of Sheridan and the former executive director of the Sheridan Redevelopment Agency are staying tight lipped about a three month investigation that led to the director's termination.
Ray Sample ran the agency for about 4 years. Prior to that he served as Sheridan's police chief for 10 years.
"It's a personnel matter," said Sheridan City Manager A.J. Krieger, declining to discuss the termination.
Sample told CBS4 he wouldn't discuss his firing or whether he might appeal until after he had consulted with his lawyer.
The city placed Sample on administrative leave March 19. He was subsequently fired last Thursday.
As director of the Sheridan Redevelopment Agency, Sample was primarily tasked with assisting in the development of the 750,000 square foot River Point project, a $225 million assortment of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues along Santa Fe Drive.
Sample has 10 days to file an appeal.
