Colo. Nat'l Guard Sets Up 'Santa Shop' For Troops

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) ― The Colorado National Guard headquarters in Centennial was turned into a mini-shopping mall for guard members and their families on Saturday.

All of the gifts in the "Santa Shop" were all donated and available at no cost.

While the parents shopped for their children, the children could shop for their parents. Several tables were set up for the kids. Once they picked out their gifts they could then have them wrapped.

The turnout surpassed what it was last year.

Guard members say this type of thing really helps out.

"You know we go through hard times as well, so it's wonderful that the Guard actually looks out for us," Specialist Martin May said.

A Santa shop was also set up at the VFW in Security father south for families in that area.
