Lance Armstrong Joins In DU Cancer Fundraiser

DENVER (AP) ― Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong was in Denver Tuesday to participate in a fundraiser for his Livestrong charity.

The group, which works to fight cancer and invest in research, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. It's holding events across the country to raise awareness about cancer.

Armstrong wowed a crowd of more than 500. Many who attended are cancer survivors themselves.

Boulder's own Davis Phinney, another American cyclist, was in the crowd as well. He recently underwent brain surgery to relieve some of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
