President Barack Obama will bring his campaign for health care reform to Colorado.
The president will discuss his health care plan being considered by Congress during a town hall meeting Saturday in Grand Junction in western Colorado.
The trip is part of a Western swing that will include visits to Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman, Mont., the Grand Canyon and Phoenix.
Obama's health care meeting in Grand Junction, about 240 miles west of Denver, will follow ones in Portsmouth, N.H., and Belgrade, Mont. He is expected to focus on proposed annual caps on how much insurance companies can charge for out-of-pocket expenses.
Support staffers have been in Grand Junction for the last few days preparing for the president's visit, according to The Daily Sentinel. Kevin Reimer, co-owner of the Hawthorn Suites and the Hampton Inn downtown, said a "large contingent" of the staff has booked rooms at both hotels.
Obama is scheduled to arrive in Grand Junction at 3:45 p.m. Saturday and leave at 6:15 p.m. The town hall meeting will be at Central High School.
Members of the public who want to attend the meeting can register for free tickets to be distributed in a lottery system. People can leave a voice message at (970) 254-6139 on Wednesday, or register online at
