The green industry continues to be a bright spot in the troubled economy. On Saturday hundreds of job seekers turned out for a green job fair in Denver.
All 22 companies that were on hand say they are dedicated to reducing fossil fuel.
Boulder-based Tendrol is a smart technology company. They let consumers see exactly what they're spending on their energy bills. They have a dozen openings and were looking for good candidates.
"I think it's a great opportunity for candidates to come out and meet with companies and learn a little bit more and make sure it's a good fit for them," Christine Izzo with Tendrol said.
One job seeker believes green jobs are a good bet for the future.
"I think it's definitely a growing industry especially as awareness continues to increase," job seeker Matt Earlywine said. "Definitely within the next 5 to 10 years, it definitely will be a huge industry, so now is a great time to get into it."
The fair was put on by the Colorado Renewable Energy Society. Visit
the society's Web site for more information on green jobs.
