Ritter, Hickenlooper Launch Cool Biz Program
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Gov. Bill Ritter and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper announced a new energy-saving program called Cool Biz on Thursday morning.
Initiated by Greenprint Denver, the new program aims to cut energy costs in the city's government buildings by raising thermostats.
The mayor invited city employees to replace their formal office apparel with cooler attire like short-sleeved shirts and blouses.
"We will allow ourselves to be comfortable and save energy at the same time," Hickenlooper said.
Businesses throughout Denver and Colorado are invited to join in.
Coors Brewing Company and Qwest Communications have already decided to participate.
