Xcel Energy Offers $1 Energy-Efficient Light Bulbs
DENVER (CBS4) ―
If you've been wanting to make the switch to energy-efficient light bulbs but didn't want to fork over the extra dough, Xcel Energy has an offer you might want to take advantage of.
The electric company is offering compact fluorescent light bulbs or CFLs for as little as $1 a bulb. Xcel says customers who buy and install the $1 bulbs in September can expect a pay back in energy savings by the end of the year.
The $1 bulbs are available at participating Ace Hardware, Costco, Home Depot and Sam's Club stores throughout Colorado. Xcel says the quantities are limited and the special price is only available while supplies last. There are more than 80 stores participating.
