Solo Hybrid Drivers Might Be Able To Use HOV Lanes
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Solo drivers in hybrid vehicles should be able to cruise into high occupancy vehicle lanes this spring.
The Colorado Department of Transportation has issued guidelines to allow 2,000 hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles to use the HOV lanes, even if the driver is alone.
The guidelines still need final approval from the state and federal governments.
If approved as expected, hybrid drivers could use the HOV lanes on Interstate 25, the Boulder Turnpike and South Santa Fe Drive.
