Tiger Woods' planned return to golf at the Masters drew plenty of
criticism from the international press on Wednesday, and the most
scathing comments came from Britain.
David Duval lives in Denver with his wife and their five children. Duval debuted on the professional golf scene in 1993. He was born Nov. 9, 1971 in Florida and grew up there.
Duval won his first Major in 2001 when he won the British Open. He has a total of 13 victories and is ranked 30th on the career earnings list.
He is well-known for an unorthodox swing but his game crashed in 2003 after suffering assorted injuries. When his confidence waned, he experimented with his swing, further damaging his game. In 2009 several years of effort led to a second place finish in the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. See him talk about his preparation with CBS4's Vic Lombardi.
Duval married Susie Perischette in 2004 and many experts believed family life helped him refocus his game.
Duval left the tour in 2007 for more than seven months when his wife was put on bedrest while expecting their fourth child. Duval stayed at home to care for their three older children.
He and his 17 year old stepson competed in the Del Webb Father/Son Challenge in December 2007.
