    In the 1969 film "Downhill Racer" Robert Redford plays a skier on the U.S. ski team and Gene Hackman plays his coach. The training track scenes were filmed in Boulder and some scenes were also filmed in Durango.

State lawmakers were considering a bill in early 2008 to give tax incentives to production companies to shoot movies in Colorado. In the early days of movie-making, filmmakers frequently came to Colorado, taking advantage of beautiful vistas and unusual architecture. In recent years the number of films shot here has fallen dramatically. The Colorado Film Commission hopes the incentives will bring more filmmakers back to Colorado. More
