David Letterman reveals to his late night audience his affairs with several staffers on his show and the extortion plot against him in Manhattan on Oct. 1, 2009. Robert Joel Halderman (known as Joe), a producer at "48 Hours" was accused of trying to extort $2 million from Letterman. Halderman reportedly lived for a time with Stephanie Birkitt, a former Letterman assistant often appeared on the show in comedy bits.
