Every Super Bowl has its share of moments that stick with fans for a long time. But celebrities also turn out in droves for the Super Bowl and for Snoop Dogg, he brings an annual event for a group of lucky kids that affectionately known as the Snoop Bowl. It's the 8th edition of the Snoop Bowl.
This season, the Truth Team from Dallas brought their a-game to South Florida and were led by celebrity head coach, "Prime Time" Deion Sanders, reports CBS station WFOR-TV. The former Cowboy, 49er, and Falcon cornerback was completely focused on the game, so much so that he didn't give pregame interviews.
For the players, it's an exciting time. "It's amazing. I love the feeling," said player Peyton Mitchell. "The air is so much hotter down here. Getting out of school, its fun."
Snoop Dogg said the annual all-star game is his way of giving back and helping give the focus to kids.
"I'm so in love with football. I feel like this is my contribution," Snoop said. "I don't blame no (sic) football players for not coming back and building the football league. That's not what I'm in it for. I'm in it to do my part and my part is to reach out to these kids."
And it's not just the football teams that are being drilled and enjoying the South Florida Sun. The Revealing Truth Ministries band out of Tampa is looking for a pitch perfect performance too.
"We teach them (kids who may not have a chance) to play music and as you can see the results of hard work," said band director Antwain Underwood. "We practice every week. The kids earn this. This is like our Super Bowl. "
