The Railbenders have been a Denver favorite for years; a mix of roadhouse country and rock and roll.
And the band is a big fan of the Denver music scene.
"We're fortunate to be a local band around here because there's a lot of country music fans around Denver and we kind of do the music we like and a lot of people seem to like it too," said Tyson Murray with the band.
The Railbenders get a lot of support in their assessment of Denver's fans -- Meese, The Fray, Flobots, Modest Mouse -- all of the bands echo those comments.
"I go to shows when I can get out, (to all) different genres and there's always a lot of people around. There's a big rock scene, a big punk scene, and the country scene is exploding. I think people just enjoy music around Denver and they support it."
But July will bring a new musical experience for the Railbenders, they will be the only country band at the Mile High Music Festival
"We're going to get up and do what we do. Hopefully we stand out because we really enjoy the music that we play and we don't do anything to try and please anybody particularly. We do what we like and people seem to like it to."
And with 50,000 fans expected at the event, the Railbenders are preparing to showcase their best performances.
"Maybe a few butterflies but hopefully it will bring out the best in us."
