DENVER (AP) ― With their respective host cities due to face off in the National Hockey League playoffs, the organizers for the Republican and Democratic national conventions accepted a friendly wager Wednesday.

Democratic National Convention Committee CEO Leah Daughtry, on behalf of Denver and the Colorado Avalanche, has offered up some Colorado steaks. Republican National Convention President and CEO Maria Cino, on behalf of Minneapolis and the Minnesota Wild, is all in with an assortment of walleye.

The Avalanche make their home in Denver's Pepsi Center, while the Wild play at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The facilities will host the Democratic and Republican conventions respectively.

The Avalanche and Wild begin a first-round series Wednesday.
