Weld County Hopes YouTube Video Can Catch Burglars

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) ― Investigators in Weld County have turned to YouTube in hopes of catching criminals. The latest Internet video from the sheriff's department shows a home burglary where deputies are looking for the thieves.

The video was taken by a home security system. It shows the burglars approaching the home in the middle of the day.

They smash a window to get inside.

A woman stands guard while a man searches the house for valuables.

"The images that we're hoping people recognize is maybe the way the person walked," said Shane Scofield, a Weld County sheriff's deputy. "The fact that they smoke, maybe the new girlfriend, maybe if it is a new girlfriend, a co-worker, clothing descriptions."

Investigators said the pair has burglarized at least four homes since late March.
