The Eagle County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident involving a truck driver Sunday afternoon.
Police said they responded to a 911 call about a truck driver pulled over near mile marker 147.5 on eastbound Interstate 70. The driver believed he'd been shot in the head.
After investigating, authorities believe a 2-pound, 5-by-6-inch chunk of concrete broke through the driver's side window and hit the driver in the head.
Eagle County sheriff's spokeswoman Shannon Cordingly says investigators don't know whether the concrete was thrown and are trying to determine what happened.
The driver last remembers stopping at a truck stop off of exit 40 on I-70 in Utah earlier that morning.
Cordingly said Monday the driver was treated and released at a hospital. Investigators haven't released his name but say he's from Washington state.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Eagle County Crime Stoppers at (970) 328-7007, (800) 972-TIPS, or by submitting the tip online at
