Nationwide Manhunt On For Thornton Murder Suspect

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) ― A married couple is dead after a shooting in Thornton Saturday afternoon and now police have launched a nationwide manhunt for the suspect, police said.

Police found the bodies of Marco Antonio Escobedo, 44, and Vera Marie Escobedo, 41, in the Autumn Chase apartment complex located at 9122 Gale Boulevard.

Police said there were three witnesses inside the apartment. They said Marco answered the door bell, was shot, and then the suspect shot Vera and fled.

The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Lance Leroy McDermed. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. He is associated with a maroon 4-door Chevy Cavalier with license plate 884-NWT. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Thornton police or 911.
