Boulder Police Warn Women After Another Assault
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) ―
Boulder police are investigating the fourth assault on a woman in the city in less than a month. Three of the attacks were sexual in nature.
The latest attack happened Tuesday night as a woman walked home alone near 12th and College. Two people found her at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. They helped her get home and her roommates took the victim to the hospital.
Police are looking for the two people who helped the victim and took her home. No one knows who those people are.
Investigators aren't exactly sure where the assault happened, but they do say it's part of a disturbing new trend as women are attacked by strangers.
Officers encourage women to be aware of their surroundings and use the buddy system. They also said many of the victims had been drinking.
Many of the recent attacks happened in or near the University Hill neighborhood.
Police don't have any information linking the most recent assault to others that have taken place recently.
The recent spike in assaults on women in Boulder began Halloween, when a 20-year-old woman told police she was approached by four men in an alley near Boulder High School and raped by two of them.
