Northglenn Teen Accused Of Raping At-Risk Adults
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) ―
Police in Lakewood have arrested a man they describe as an Internet predator. He's accused of raping two developmentally disabled women he met on the Internet and police say there may be more victims.
Nicholas Meier, 19, of Northglenn is in custody without bond facing two counts of sexual assault where the victims are at-risk adults.
Police said Meier met his victims on the Internet and then continued the relationship through cell phone and text messaging until they agreed to meet with him in person. That's when police say he raped the young women.
The victims are 18 and 21 years old but police say they have the mental capacity of children. Meier apparently met the victims on craigslist and myspace.com. Police say he raped one victim in her Lakewood home and sexually assaulted the second victim near Southwest Plaza Mall.
"I think the conversations, both online and the texting conversations that he had with these women, was certainly an attempt to learn more about them to groom them if you will," Steve Davis with Lakewood police said.
Police suspect there may be other victims. They're asking anyone who has information about Meier to call them.
