07/02/08, officers assisted federal agencies with looking into a possible threat that was verbally made to the Social Security Agency. It was determined that the threat was idle at best and a warning was extended.

07/03/08, officers were called concerning an illegal dumping approximately 4 miles north near County Road 730, Ohio Creek Road. Investigations provided that the material being dumped was fill-in dirt and that the concern was unfounded.

07/03/08, officers assisted the Gunnison Police Department with an ambulance call at Pizza Hut.

07/04/08, officers and EMS responded to a medical call near the Roadway Inn, west of Gunnison, concerning a 53-year-old female passenger of a motorcycle who had fallen from the non-moving vehicle and had broken her wrest.

07/04/08, officers assisted the National Park Service with an ambulance call near the Lake City Bridge. A heavily intoxicated male had apparently received injuries (severity unknown) while he was attempting to jump off rocks and into the lake.

07/04/08, at approximately 11:20 PM, officers were dispatched to an address near County Road 38, Gold Basin. The reporting party was concerned about discovering blood smeared over his front door. Investigations revealed that the likely source of the blood was the reporting party's dog that was bleeding. It was undetermined how the dog was injured.

07/04/08, at approximately 9:00 PM, officers, EMS and Fire responded to a tree fire near the Ponderosa Trailer Park. Investigation revealed that an outdoor stove started the unintentional fire.

07/04/08, at approximately 10:40 PM, officers received a report that a 16-year-old female had apparently ran away from the Texas Creek area; possibly in the Buena Vista. Within a couple hours authorities from Chaffee County located the young lady and established that she was safe and sound.

07/05/08, in the early morning hours, officers were dispatched to several deferent areas of the county concerning fireworks being launched.

07/05/08, at approximately 9:08 PM, officers were dispatched to an address near Candlelight Lane in relationship to a possible suicide attempt. Subsequent to investigations a 24-year-old male was taken into protective custody and a mental evaluation was conducted. The victim was transported to Grand Junction for further treatment.

07/05/08, at approximately 3:00 PM, officers were called concerning an overturned kayak in the Gunnison River near Almont. The kayak and the owner were reunited.

07/05/08, officers responded to the Gunnison County Detention Center regarding a reported medication overdose of one of the inmates. Upon interviewing the inmate it was learned that he had over-medicated before the Detention Center received him. The individual was treated at the Gunnison Valley Hospital and released back to authorities.

07/05/08, officers received a report concerning reckless endangerment near Big Cimarron. Investigations provided that a 13-year-old Olathe male had accidentally shot a side window out on a vehicle that was traveling on County Road 861. The young male had apparently shot at a tree with a bb gun and the projectile ricocheted into the moving automobile. The victim in this case advised officers that he did not want charges filed against the lad as long as the window was replaced. Guardians for the juvenile agreed.

07/05/08, officers investigated an ATV rollover USFS road 858, in the Cimarron area. A 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy were riding a 4-wheeler when they experienced a slow-speed rollover. Both juveniles advised that they were unhurt and were turned over to their parents. The father of the boys was instructed to file a Colorado ATV accident report for the state.

07/05/08, at approximately 11:50 PM, officers assisted the National Park Service with attempting to locate a speed boat that was traveling at high speeds without lights. Officers were unable to locate the vessel.
