Cold Case Project Searches For Sex Assault Suspect

Denver Police Release Latest Cold Case Suspect's Name

DENVER (CBS4) ― The Denver Police Department's Cold Case Project has released information about a fugitive they are trying to locate.

Police said Hyron Tucker, 34, is wanted for sexual assault on a child and failure to register as a sex offender in Denver.

Sonny Jackson with Denver police said on Jan. 3, 2005, officers responded to a location in southwest Denver on a report of a sex assault on a child that had occurred 6 days earlier. While there, officers were told Tucker had forcibly fondled a juvenile girl at the location.

"The suspect was arrested for his crime and was sentenced to Denver probation. Since that time the suspect has not registered as a sex offender at his new (unknown) address and has violated the conditions of his probation," Jackson said in a prepared statement.

Tucker is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has a scar on his left hand and discoloration of his left eye.

Police warn that Carballo is considered dangerous and should not be approached. He has had numerous prior arrests for sexual assault on children.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fugitive Unit at (720) 913-6753 or call the dispatch center at (720) 913-2000. Remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP (7867).

Denver police have begun a push to close cold cases by tracking down fugitives. Every week, detectives put out information on two cold cases in hopes the public can help them track down the suspects.
