Deputies Give Few Details About DougCo Killing
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) ―
Investigators identified the victim Tuesday of an apparent homicide along Interstate 25 in Douglas County, but revealed little else about the case except to say that there was apparently no threat to the community and that the killing was an isolated incident.
"I know there is a concern for safety and we want the community to know that there is no safety concern or none that we foresee from this investigation or case, to the public," said Lt. Alan Stanton of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Someone called for help late Sunday night after seeing the body of Castle Rock real estate agent Henry Blair lying next to his white Mercedes SUV on the off-ramp from I-25 to Happy Canyon Road.
Sheriff's deputies said Blair's body showed signs of trauma. The coroner had yet to determine the exact cause of death on Tuesday.
Investigators spent more than 13 hours Monday collecting evidence at the scene where the body was found. Dozens of yellow evidence markers dotted the ground.
Authorities were not revealing many details Tuesday.
"We have information we would like to release, however if we would do that it really would compromise that, and we really don't want to do that," said Stanton.
The coroner was apparently waiting on specific lab results Tuesday to determine how Blair died.
He was the president and managing broker of a company called Screamin' Eagle Incorporated, which is based in Castle Rock.
