Northglenn Police Investigate Attempted Kidnapping

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4) ― Police in Northglenn are investigating a possible attempted kidnapping of a 12-year-old boy on Saturday.

Officers responded to a call from a woman who said an unknown male attempted to kidnap her son who had been rollerblading around 3:20 p.m. near Leroy Drive Elementary School.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 30s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, medium build, short brown hair, crooked teeth and wearing a dark brown shirt. He was driving an older light blue utility van with reddish tinted windows and scratches on the passenger side. The license plate possibly had an H in the middle and a 2 for the last number. The plate had a white background with blue letters, possibly from California.

The victim told officers the suspect got out of his van and grabbed him by the arm and attempted to pull him into the van. The victim said he hit the suspect in the face and was let go.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Northglenn Police Department (303) 450-8856 or (303) 450-8893.
