Denver police have arrested an elementary school employee accused of taping the mouth and hands of a student.
Police say administrator Jennifer Carter, 45, was being held Monday for investigation of child abuse and false imprisonment, both misdemeanors. A Denver jail official said a bond amount had not yet been set.
Carter was put on leave following the alleged incident Wednesday at Palmer Elementary. Denver Public Schools spokesman Mike Vaughn called the allegations "very troubling."
The 6-year-old boy's mother, Ashlye Tenner, said last week that her son was taped after he was sent to the principal's office for misbehaving in class.
