Injured Teen Provides Account Of Murder-Suicide

BENNETT, Colo. (CBS4) ― A 16-year-old girl survived a shooting spree by her father to provide a graphic account of Thursday's double murder-suicide in Bennett.

Killed were the gunman, Eddie Davidson, 35; his wife Amy Hill, 29, and their 3-year-old old daughter Bailey.

Davidson was a prison inmate, serving time for email fraud, until he escaped Sunday. Davidson had been dubbed the "spam king" by authorities.

The surviving 16-year-old gave the following account to an Arapahoe County Sheriff's deputy who rode with her in an ambulance on the way to a hospital Thursday:

On Thursday morning, Davidson calls up his wife on the telephone.

Her name is Amy Hill and she's staying at her parents home in Lakewood.

Davidson tells her he's going to turn himself in, but not until he meets first with Amy and their children.

Amy's relucant, according to the 16-year-old.

But a meeting place is arranged.

It takes place in the parking lot of a Home Depot Store at Smoky Hill and Gun Club Road.

The children get there first.

Davidson arrives at 9:45 a.m.

According to the teen, Eddie pushes Amy out of the driver's seat and gets behind the wheel of their SUV.

As he drives east, Davidson asks Amy to talk about happier times.

But as the SUV approaches their old neighborhood in Bennett, Amy gets nervous.

Davidson pulls out a gun, holding the barrell to his head.

Amy says, "No Eddie, we love you, don't do it."

The car turns into the gravel driveway of their former home and Amy asks Eddie why they are there.

There's no answer.

Instead, Davidson points the gun at Amy.

She tries to grab the weapon.

He shoots his wife dead.

Next, he turns the gun on his 16-year-old daughter and fires again.

But the teenager manages to duck and is only grazed.

Then Eddie shoots into the backseat killing Bailey, his 3-year-old daughter, while she's strapped in her car seat.

The 16-year-old gets out of the car and starts running.

She looks back to see her father pointing the gun at her.

To gain speed, she kicks off her shoes and runs barefoot on the gravel driveway.

She's heading towards a neighbor standing in his yard a quarter-mile away.

And she's yelling her father just shot two members of her family.

That's when Davidson turns the gun on himself.

Besides the three killed at the scene, deputies found the couple's 7-month-old son unharmed in the SUV.

The 16-year-old daugher was treated for a minor gunshot wound and released from the hospital.

The names of the two surviving children are not being released.

Both are in the care of Human Services.
