The Colorado State Patrol said a Brighton woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Weld County, near Lochbuie.
Troopers said Jannelle C. Devisser, 28, suffered fatal injuries when a vehicle struck her. A school bus driver found her body Wednesday morning near Weld County roads 37 and 8.
Investigators believe Devisser was struck sometime between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. She was wearing dark clothing and would have been difficult to see at night.
Troopers said they have very little to go one but do have a couple of leads.
"This party is known to the area and has been known to be traversing, walking the roadway at all times of day and night," Trooper Dana Reynolds said. "So early indications based on our evaluation of scene evidence is that this was a hit-and-run."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Colorado State Patrol.
