Brighton Gas Stations Engage In Price War

Drivers said the best time to get cheap gas is when both stores have full tanks. When one station is out of fuel, the other one raises prices to normal levels.

Two gas stations in Brighton are locked in a price war as they vie for customers. Prices have been as low as $3.09 a gallon for regular gas.
The stations are located in the 1300 block of E. Bridge Street.
A Western Convenience store lowered prices first over the weekend as a new Kum & Go station opened down the street.
Drivers said the best time to get cheap gas is when both stores have full tanks. When one station is out of fuel, the other one raises prices to normal levels.
"It helps my budget," said one woman Thursday morning.
AAA reported Thursday that the national average price for gasoline is $3.77. In Colorado, the average is $3.69. In the Denver area, AAA said the average is $3.64.
