Parking rates have gone up at Denver International Airport.
Parking rates at DIA's least expensive lots increased $1 a day starting Wednesday. Those include the economy and shuttle lots.
The economy lots now cost $10 a day.
The Pikes Peak and Mount Elbert lots now cost $6 a day.
The $18 rate in DIA's terminal parking garages will stay the same.
The deputy manager of aviation says DIA is no different than other airports throughout the country trying to increase revenue while holding down costs for their airlines.
The rate increases will generate nearly $1.5 million a year, which will be used to defray airline costs.
The last time parking rates went up was four years ago.
