Pepsi Center Tickets Available Only At TicketHorse
DENVER (CBS4) ―
People attending events at the Pepsi Center will now be buying their tickets through TicketHorse, rather than Ticketmaster. The change kicked in Wednesday.
TicketHorse was created two years ago by Kroenke Sports Enterprises. Now it's the sole provider for tickets to events at the Pepsi Center. That includes concerts, the Nuggets, the Avalanche, the Mammoth and any other shows or events.
"In short, TicketHorse will create Colorado jobs and provide an easy-to-use platform for the consumer," said Paul Andrews, Executive Vice President of KSE.
Ticket fees will vary, but they should be lower than Ticketmaster. The entire transaction will now be electronic, including sales and re-sales, which should eliminate some concerns over scalping, block buying and bogus tickets.
"You'll have an easy-to-use point and click digital ticketing system where you can point to sections, click on sections and buy your seats," Andrews said. "The systems allow patrons to purchase, sell and transfer tickets instantly."
There's a lot of money to be made in keeping ticket sales efficiently in house -- both through fan appreciation and control of the fee structure.
It's a win-win for Kroenke and the Pepsi Center.
To promote the move TicketHorse is waiving fees on tickets sold July 1 through July 5 for Denver performances of Green Day, Keith Urban and the Walking With Dinosaurs show -- among others. They are online or Pepsi Center Box Office sales only.
They will still have to charge that $4 facility fee.
