Coupon Site Based In Colorado Enjoys Success
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Research shows the use of coupons has quadrupled in the past few years and not all of them are clipped out of the paper or magazines -- many come from the Internet.
One of the most popular Web sites helping families beat the recession is based in Colorado. Last month the
ShopAtHome.com enjoyed 16 million visits. The site offers discounts for just about any kind of product or store.
In addition to hundreds of grocery coupons every week, deal seekers can get cash back from shopping at popular places like Target and Barnes & Noble.
Kristen Deevy is all ready to go for Halloween. She bought all the party favors, costumes and goodies at Oriental Trading. But she got discounts by first logging on to
ShopAtHome.com.
"It's really easy to use and allows me to shop from home," Deevy said.
ShopAtHome.com can be thought of as a gateway to thousands of coupons and cash-back offers.
"I can type in a specific name of a vendor or a store and will look to see whether they have cash-backs," Deevy said. "We get a check in the mail every quarter based on the amount of percentages, which all are different and add up to different levels."
Last quarter that Deevy's check was for $60.
"It's kind of nice (to) save a little money here and there," she said.
ShopAtHome.com also boasts a massive selection of printable grocery coupons.
"We're not the only supplier of grocery coupons, we're just one of the easiest ways to find grocery coupons," said Marc Braunstein, who runs
ShopAtHome.com with his wife.
Braunstein says
ShopAtHome.com offers coupons for an estimated 60,000 different products and services.
"With us you just type in to our search engine what brand you want, whether it be Huggies or Luvs, and the appropriate coupon will come up," Braunstein said.
Braunstein says the average family of four could save up to $2,000 a year on groceries by using his Web site.
Coupons for neighborhood restaurants, shops and services are also available for everybody.
Spend some time surfing the site and consumers will also find things like free services, and samples.
