Qwest: Strike Won't Affect Democratic Convention
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Despite threats of a strike, Qwest says communication services for the Democratic National Convention won't be affected.
Union workers at Qwest voted to authorize a strike if an agreement on a new contract can't be reached.
Negotiations on wages, healthcare benefits and job outsourcing have been ongoing for the past month.
Qwest's contract expires on Saturday.
Qwest is the official telecommunications provider for the convention.
Company officials vow to meet the convention commitments even if there is a work stoppage.
